Poorly manufactured gas cooktop

We received this gas cooktop as part of the pre-selected items for our new home. Although the burners work as intended, I would not have selected this particular model due to the following issues:- The materials do not seem to be of the highest quality, such as the drip pan area which is quite thin and susceptible to dents and scratches.- The cooktop is difficult to clean. such as in the knob area. If the knobs are removable, I can't tell because they don't pull off easily. Rather, I feel like I am going to break them if I try to pull too hard.- The grates are cumbersome. If I move them in the wrong way when attempting to clean the unit, they will scratch the thin drip pan area.Overall I am not happy with this gas cooktop.

The gas cooktop works well, but the metal area around each of the burners is thin and scratches easily. I would not have selected this cooktop if I had been able to choose my appliances for this house. When I think of gas cooktops, I believe they should be sturdy, way to clean, and convenient to use. This cooktop is none of these things.

I was surprised to find out that the Knob was very cheaply made. The knob of the high flame burner broke which is the most used burner. I was in a little panick for few minutes as I was unsure if the gas was Off or not.

The cooking is fine, unfortunately the area around the burners has scorched and unable to clean satisfactorily. The knobs are cheap plastic and all the stems have broken. Extremely surprised a company would skimp on their quality

I really like the look of the cooktop, but the knobs are junk. The stem is plastic and all 4 of them have cracked and broken and no longer able to be used. With the product from Frigidaire I'd expect better quality from this company. I can buy the replacement knobs but they will just break again and I'd have to waste more money replacing the knobs. Very disappointed in the product.

I looked at different stainless steel stove tops and chose Frigidaire. This stove top cleans very easily, the burns don™™t take for ever to light and the appearance is stunning. I highly recommend this stovetop due to the reasonable price and top quality.

Buyer be aware about the cheap plastic knobs!! All knobs have broken and they are very expensive to replace. They are made of cheap plastic and Crack after couple months. We hate these knobs because they are continuously break.

Knob stems on the range are made of cheap plastic. They have already broken and without the knobs the burners become unusable. The quality is very disappointing for Frigidaire. Many other reviewers are having the same issue. Will think twice before purchasing another Frigidaire product. I also have a Frigidaire microwave installed above this gas stove and the handle on the microwave is made of white plastic with a thin ™foil like™ piece of film which has separated from the seam after normal use and looks awful. Unless customer service can make this right, I will not purchase or recommend and will purchase from a different manufacturer that produces quality products. I feel like I should not have to pay for a replacement for a poor quality product when it was purchased new. Please contact me for resolution. Thank you!

Certainly not the first review discussing these garbage knobs. Had the range less than 3 weeks and knob 1 broke, less than a year later I™™m down to two working burners because the knobs are broken. Cost for replacement is $40-60 for 1 knob of same quality. Awful experience!

In short absolutely ridiculous!!! We have been loyal customers of Frigidaire™™s products since 2006. We selected this cooktop along with a Frigidaire dishwasher for our new home we were building last year. Closed in the middle of June 2021.Within 3 month the first of our 4 knobs failed with the plastic back of the knob stripping out and ceasing to function properly. By Christmas last year(less than 6 months from purchase date) two more failed with the same problem. Yesterday the fourth one has stripped out as well. All knobs have failed within 10 months of purchase and being put into service. Hopefully a quick call to customer service would have replacements sent to us and hopefully Frigidaire has updated this design flaw to prevent the situation from continuing. And yes I read the review here and realized this was a common issue. Well.... one can hope. Alas, I was wrong. That quick call ended lasting over an hour and ten minutes with the result that a supervisor would call me back in 4-5 business days. Why you ask?? The rep picked up quickly and after spending an excessive amount of time gathering my personal info allowed me to explain my issue. She then placed me on hold to do whatever it is they have to do on their end. She didn™™t return for what felt like forever but was realistically 15 minutes. Here™™s where i get annoyed. She tells me the knobs are covered under warranty because they are considered ™cosmetic™ and not a ™functional part™! I chuckled and said if the knob is what activates the burner and controls how much heat is produced then I would deduce it is critical that it functions. Simply said the knobs are required to operate the cook top, Although I am being a bit snarky, the statement that they are cosmetic and thus Frigidaire(Electrolux) wouldn™™t honor the one year warranty. She stated the warranty states they do not cover cosmetic pieces of the appliance. What a JOKE!!! Knobs are cosmetic. They are cheap knobs that have poorly designed plastic backs that strip out or break from typical usage. Oh yeah about that 1 year warranty. Look at the user guide on this page and if you find anything that says they don™™t cover knobs please point it out to me. Because I could only find that it stated they would cover all parts for 1 year assuming you maintained the appliance and didn™™t;t abuse it. Which we have complied too. It is also very telling as others have noted that these knobs are 200.00 for a set of 4. Sounds like Frigidaire is just looking for ways to pad their profits and take advantage of consumers.Lesson Leaned....Buyer Beware!!!! Beware of sub standard product quality and support from customer service that is reprehensible!

I have had this for less than a year and a half and one of the knobs got stuck. Tried turning it with slightly more force than normal and the knob broke. Cheap plastic crap. The burner is still stuck (won't even turn when I use pliers). AND the replacement knob cost $42 FOR 1 CHEAP PLASTIC KNOB. I will rip this crap out and put in a more reputable brand before I pay that.

The cooking unit works well, heats things quickly, want to like this unit, however the knobs make this situation unacceptable. In first 4 months of ownership 1 knob failed, and in another 4 months, another 2 knobs have failed. I can only assume within the first year the last one will fail as well. At $50 a pop, that's essentially a $200 annual subscription fee you're looking at. Like many others have mentioned, seems to be a design/QA failure, not sure why they used plastic instead of metal for something where it has so many noted issues. Very disappointed.

I purchased the unit from Amazon. The cooktop works fine and was easy to install. The installation guide was thorough and clear in the instructions. However, the control knobs are of inferior quality as many have also discovered. They scratch very easily and crack due to the heat from the cooktop. They begin to turn loosely on the valve shaft and become a safety issue since the gas may not actually be turned off. They should be made of metal or at least a heat resistant durable plastic.

I echo the sentiment of so many on this forum. The appliance itself works fine, but we have only had this cooktop a little over 1 year, and have already had to replace 2 of the 4 knobs that busted off easily with routine use.

I would not purchase another Frigidaire product based on my experiences. Two of the knobs broke with normal use. When I called customer service I was told that these were not under warranty after a year and they would not replace them for me without charge because knobs are considered cosmetic. Obviously, a consumer is not able to utilize the stove without a functioning knob. Replacement knobs can be ordered, but are about $50 each to purchase. Upon research this is a common problem and there are many reviews online for stores that sell this unit. Frigidaire is unwilling to acknowledge this issue exists and unwilling to replace the poor quality plastic knobs for customers without charging an excessive amount for a cheaply made product. Buyer beware if you are considering Frigidaire products.

This range has the most cheaply made knobs I've ever encountered. All 4 knobs broke in 4 months! After the first one broke and I saw the replacement was $35 (EACH!), I was very gentle with the other 3. Didn't matter. They are all either cracked or broke. I have 1 left that is cracked, but still semi-usable. The rest I use pliers. Save yourself! Don't buy this range!

Knobs on this stove are plastic and cheaply made. Two of ours cracked and broke within 2 months. Very scary as it was hard to turn the gas off once that happened. We had to remove them completely so they didn't accidentally turn on and let the gas release.

Had the cooktop over a year and 3 of the 4 knobs cracked at the end of the stem. To replace them is costly. Finding them took awhile since my local homedepot doesn't sell replacement knobs. I should have checked the reviews on this cooktop before purchasing. Now I see the reviews are all based on the poorly engineered knob.

The unit itself works very well and is very easy to clean. It looks very nice in my kitchen and the continuous grate makes it very convenient to have multiple pots/pans going at the same time, also for using a griddle. My only complaint is the plastic knobs - we've had the cooktop for 2 years and the knobs used most frequently broke and are currently being held together with duck tape. Very disappointing considering the cost of this cooktop.

We had an electric stove top before we renovated our entire kitchen and you can definitely tell a huge difference in heat output and cook time in the gas range. Our food heats up much faster in a shorter period of time. This cooktop is easy to clean and works great. We love it.
