Latch Trouble - won't latch - machine thinks it is latched - YIKES!

Good product! Hasn't given me trouble until now, after about 6 years of service.Right now there is an issue with the latch - it won't latch is the trouble. The machine believes it is latched and it will run - but can't shut it off without causing a power interruption - and the dishwasher won't latch properly. Without the latching, I cannot use the dishwasher. Not sure how to manage this problem, but I am inclined to open the inside door panel and see if I can identify the issue. Any suggestions?

Poor performance and the circuit board stopped working - twice!

Just over four years old, and the circuit board inside the door is done. We had a repair tech fix it once, but he advised not to fix it if it broke again, which it did two weeks later. Even when it WAS working, it was a poor performing dishwasher, never really getting the dishes clean. Stay away! We absolutely regret buying this dishwasher, and will never again buy a Frigidaire dishwasher...

I purchased this diswasher about 2 years ago and it started leaking at the bottom of the door soon after I purchased it. I've replaced the tub gasket and the bottom door gasket. While I had the door front off I started the dishwasher and saw water coming thru the holes in the bottom gasket. This wasn't a wear out failure. Its a design issue Frigidaire needs to fix. If this was a car I would look at getting a lemon law claim I chatted with a representative and she said to call Customer service. I called that number and was on hold for 30 minutes before I hung up.

The dishwasher worked well fir a while, then I recently noticed some plastic items had started to warp/melt. I looked inside the bottom of the dishwasher and noticed the sprayer arm is melting and there is a spot on the floor of the dishwasher that is beginning to melt under the heating element!!! I have seen others have had similar issues. Is there no recall for this???

Heating element burned a hole in the basin

We purchased a frigidaire dishwasher in 2018. The 2 clips that hold the heating element are poorly placed and the heating element started 'drooping'. I kept doing a quick fix on them to get them to stay in the proper position. This week we had a water leak all over while using this dishwasher. The heating element was resting on the basin and had burned a hole in it. After doing some research, (which evidently I didnt search the correct terms, as this has been happening quite frequently.) I see this has happened to many people and nothing gets done. This is a fire hazard, and I'm not sure why it's not being reported.

I bought a brand new home less than 2 years ago with this dishwasher. It now is shooting sparks whenever we run it or open the door. As we don't want a house fire, we have not been using it. I called Frigidaire and since it is outside the 1 year warranty, they want me to pay for the defective dishwasher. I don't think dishwashers are supposed to shoot off sparks with less than 2 years of use. I will never use this company again for any appliance. They are lucky their dishwash did not cause a house fire.

Fire Hazard!

We have had this dishwasher for 5 years with little complaints. Today we opened the dishwasher to unload the clean dishes and it sparked! When we looked at the hinge where the spark came from, we saw the wiring harness wrapped around the metal door hinge. The hinge had worn through the wiring harness from normal use and exposed the live wires. VERY POOR DESIGN AND HUGE FIRE HAZARD FROM NORMAL USE!!

Beware of potential fire hazard! And possible burn from hot dishes! Opened dishwasher to remove dishes and they were too hot to the touch. The last wash cycle was completed the day before but the heating element was still on one day later. None of the control buttons worked so we unplugged dishwasher and removed cover to find the wires and panel had burned. Luckily we were home to notice this within a day. I can't imagine what would have happened if were away and it was left to continue heating for multiple days. I have been trying to get in contact with customer service but have not been able to speak with an actual person. Multiple times going through call menus and then the call ends without reaching an agent.

Nearly caught on fire.

We have had our dishwasher hardly over a year in our brand new home. We call this morning after the dishwasher almost caught on fire last night to find out that we have to pay to have it fixed. Clearly this is a manufacturing error and not the customers fault unless your products are meant to catch on fire. So far the customer service we have dealt with has been sub par at best. Whatever happened to standing behind your products?! I am currently pregnant with our third child and Lord knows what chemicals were released from the burning of your plastic.

I love my Frigidaire dishwasher! Sounds crazy but this thing is so quiet, compared to my the other brands I have owned over the past 20 years. I love the look and think that the material used on the stainless steal is thicker, nicer material, than other brands use. I™€™m hoping it keeps it™€™s beauty and that my family doesn™€™t scratch it up like my last brand- which scratched very easily. My Frigidaire dishwasher is also easy to wipe off with water and looks beautiful!

Top Rack Wheels and Rails, BAD DESIGN!

We really like this dishwasher, but since day 1 there was an issue with the top rack not pulling out and in without having to force it. Turns out the rails and wheels, as installed, are a bad design. There's too much slack between the rack wheels, rails, and side of dishwasher bearings. The rails stay bent at about 10degrees, which rub on the wheels that eventually wore down & failed... but not until just after the 6month LIMITED WARRANTEE which doesn't cover them. So I had to buy them, and sadly they didn't send me the right ones. Even with the right wheels, it doesn't fix the rail design problem. So the rubber wheels will wear down and fail again. :-( It would be nice if the customer support person I talked to was more knowledgeable about their own product.

This dishwasher cleans dishes maybe 60% of the time. It constantly gets dirty so it requires frequent maintenance. Even with a thorough understanding of its mechanics and quirks, it performs poorly. If you just want to save time doing dishes, buy literally any other machine that is in good working order. Really disappointing. Good luck if a landlord sticks you with one of these lemons in your apartment, consider breaking it.
