I have been through 2 washers in the last 5 years from Costco that were declared deceased when the repairman came. Hoping that the choice of these Speed Queens were the answer. So far so good. Time will tell.

I've had this dyer for 30 days and suddenly no heat. Repair came out after a week and said it was a bad internal temp fuse. Had to order part. Another week. Now working. Quite frustrating.

Got it to replace my somewhat short lived Maytag. And to complement my Speed Queen wash machine that replaced an even shorter lived Maytag. I'm done throwing good money after bad.
I expect the Speed Queen to live up to its reputation of a long life. Plus, both that washer and dryer do an excellent job. My wife loves that steam option on the dryer also. Saves a lot of ironing.

My clothes were having a "burnt" smell on the normal dry setting. We changed it to a lower setting, with a timed dry. My clothes are not getting dry and the dryer shuts off before the time is up. I miss my old dryer. Would not recommend.

The quietest and most durable machine we have purchased. We replaced our Maytag Washer & Dryer that were less than 5 years old. The washer was the main problem The wash machine kept having balance issues. the first time it took the repairman 4 trips. then one year later the same issue and after 2 trips and the problem not resolved we replaced both machines with the Sedd Queens. I've been waiting several years for my old set to go out so I could purchase my set of Speed Queens! It has taken a little bit to figure out the best cycles for which type of clothes, but I am very happy with my purchase! The only thing I wish is that the dryer had a timer to see how much time is left to finish cycle.

No as fond of the dryer as we are with the washer. Dryer is noisy and doesn't give you a timed option or low, medium, high heat. Have to run everything for 60 minutes and figure out which cycle contol to use, delicate, perm press etc.

Like all Speed Products, extremely well-made, and designed to be long lasting, which makes it a great value despite being higher priced than its competitors, which really aren't. The only reason it did not get excellent, is due to some minor design features. These are that the buzzer volume is not adjustable, and there is no indication in automatic settings as to what part of the cycle it is in other than if it's heating or cooling, unlike older models with a mechanical control that moved throughout the cycle so that the user could estimate the amount of time left. Speed Queen.products, simply work as advertised, offer a great customer support, and free of gimmicks that in reality serve little purpose, other than to add costs to the machine and for marketing purposes. They do what they're designed to do, and do it well for a very long time, thus are less expensive to own in a long term.

So far I love it! It dries clothes quickly, quiet, no issues. I do wish it opened from the top. I don't like how clothes, especially socks fall out of it when I open it. That's the only change I would make.

I purchased this to match my Speed Queen Washer a few months ago. I like the steam refresh and different option, but the sensor for this dryer doesn't get the clothes dry, even if it isn't a heavy load. I often have the run it through a second cycle if I use the sensor function. I'm not sure if it's the norm for this dryer or I have a sensor issue

Even though we paid more for the Speed Queen dryer, we found it to be far superior in construction and drying experience. Love it and glad we spent the extra $$. The warranty is outstanding and it will last long after we're gone. We won't have to worry about replacing a dryer in our lifetime.

While it does a good job drying, I do not like the lint cleaner which does not come out of the machine. The door is very difficult to open, although I do realize that it will get easier with usage. Since I purchased the older style model (just with knobs rather than a digital readout) I never know how much time is remaining.

We purchased the Speed Queen dryer based on ratings and SQ company reputation (US made). It dries well but sometimes clothes are still slightly damp. I use the normal (not hottest) heat setting. It would be nice if the machine had a trimmer adjustment to slightly alter the built in sensors setting At first glance the machine appears to be old school mechanical controls with rotary knobs and 2 black buttons. However the "buttons" are touch sensors and the rotary controls emit a "beep" when turned even when machine is off so there is some electronics working in the background. The build quality seems very good, durability remains to be seen. (A 5 year review would be more telling)
Lastly the manual mentions an optional shoe drying rack but there doesn't appear to be a way to install one.

We purchased the dryer and hoped to buy a washing machine as well but are concerned with the dryer we purchased. Number one the instructions that come with the machine are just too generic. The book did not even address the machine we got. It does not tell how to set the bell or sound on the machine. It shows in the documentation a dial to turn which the dryer does not have - it has a button. We have tried all we can and cannot get it to work. We called the dealer we purchased the dryer from several times and still do not have an answer. We tried the press and hold button as directed and it does not work doing that. We tried to hold it for 10 seconds and 3 second and have tried it once then a second time to make sure we were not turning it on versus off. Nothing works. Extremely disappointed. There is no support number given that we might call and get answers either. The booklet shows a dial to twist not a button that is on the machine. Also the booklet in another place shows only one button where ours has two buttons. We also are having issues where we set something for less dry and when it reaches the end of the cycle we reach in to get the clothes they are almost too hot to touch and are extremely dry not less dry. We have tried several settings both the clothes still are over drying. My wife has issues with delicate clothes that are drying to dry. We also tried the steam dry and when we opened the door at the end of the cycle water came dripping out on the floor.
My wife and I are older and have always thought Speed Queen was the top of the line. If I had the capabilities I would send this dryer back and ask for a refund but we seem to be stuck with it.

We got the dryer less than a month ago. The minute it was hooked up it made a banging sound and it did not dry the clothing. The electrician said that it was missing some bolts on the back and I wonder now if this was returned once already. Three technicians came out but could not determine the cause or resolve the issue. Finally, I just got a replacement today. I had read that SpeedQueen was a great company and I hope this is true.

We have appreciated the dryer but the washer has been fair. It doesn't seem to handle even small amounts of fabric softener. It left stains on our clothing. I typically want to wash in cold but was instructed to use warm to hot water to dissolve detergent. This seems contraindicating to Speed Queen's mission. I just had higher hopes for Speed Queen and perhaps I was over sold.

What a great dryer, it's a workhorse and drys clothes perfectly with zero wrinkles. I put my tablecloths in to refresh them and steam them, they come out smelling nice and wrinkle free. Dries towels and jeans in no time. I love the 5 year warranty and made in the USA is a win win.

I have been purchasing Speed Queen washers and dryers for years. This current dry doesn't have a timed dial so unless I set a timer, I can't keep track of how much time is left in a cycle. I also miss the bell alerting me to when the dryer has finished. Sometimes "improvements" aren't so.

I've had my washer and dryer set for almost a month…why I ever owned another brand is beyond me! This is our first time owning Speed Queen and as long as they hold up like everyone says…then we are customers for life! Small but efficient, simple and easy to use! I can tell a big difference in our clothes being clean…my husband and son are welders and mechanics so getting their clothes clean is always a difficult chore! But one wash and they are clean!
