OK, seems to be most/all gas ranges now? The top is covered with 2 big grates are a pain to clean. Worse the stop top is a pain to clean. Years ago there were individual inserts that were cheap and easily replaced, now there is a single solid top that cannot be replaced.

Bought a house with this stove. Glass top is great. Oven cooks fine. Problem: never, ever get anything on any surface if the oven! AquaClean is a joke. I have run system 3 times and scrubbed in between. I am 66 years old and my mother's oven when I was a kid cleaned easier. Never have I had an oven so difficult to clean. Not energy efficent when you gave to run multiple times, and my elbow grease is energy to! AquaClean, is a joke. This could never have been tested before it was rolled out. Maybe on a computer but never in actual use!

Bought over a year ago and I like how well it work and it gets food done quick compare to my old store that was bought in 2008 and stuff cool off quickly when you take out.

normal nice stove / range , hate the full top grate , need to pick the entire grate up each use technically to clean the spatter off. too big, all new stoves are the same, and I don't ,like it.

Was bought 3 years ago and we have had to replace the oven igniter twice. Other wise, it cooks. However one of the larger burners frequently will not self ignite. The knobs located on the front of the stove are easily turned when we reach over the range to access overhead cabinets and have had to use child resistant covers to minimize that happening. All in all we have had more aggravation with this range than an other we had in the past. I™™m talking about over 50 years.

I bought this unit 2 weeks ago to replace my old whirlpool range and I wish I didn't throw my old one away. This range simply vents out too much heat. Like an EXTREME amount. When I put a thermometer to check how hot it was the thermometer read 250 degrees plus (it tops out at 250) . I thought maybe it was some sort of venting defect.. However, the appliance repair man came out and also thought it vented way too much heat. When he called whirlpool tech support they basically said there is nothing they can do. Not sure if all whirlpools have this problem, but I will be returning this unit and getting another brand. Especially after the customer service experience. Makes me believe that's how all appliance are handled. Very disappointed.

Happy that it™™s a gas stove. But the top grate that goes over the burners is so rough that it™™s destroying my cookware bottoms. Came with the new build house I purchased. And seems like they bought builders cheap special.

I used the self-cleaning feature for the first time, set timer for 2:30 and walked away. Sat down in my chair and noticed that the display was black/no display. I got a little closer and noticed that the display was melted, charred and the exhaust fan on the above microwave was now running. I called Whirlpool and was immediately transferred to safety. After explaining the situation he set me up with a tech. to come and give a diagnosis. He came and talked to someone on the phone who recommended repairs. A few weeks later, after Thanksgiving, the repairs were made for free and the gas range works. The tech. did recommend to not use the self-cleaning option again and I agreed. The MSRP is $849, I would not pay $8.49 for another Whirlpool product. I also paid $349 for a Breville countertop oven, so we could cook a turkey for Thanksgiving.

Our stove came new with the purchase of our new home in 2017. No issues until yesterday, 11/12/2019, when I decided to clean the oven. Selected the self-cleaning option, set to 2 hrs 30 mins. About an hour into it, I noticed that the display on the control panel was black and that the automatic fan on the microwave above was now on. Upon investigation I noticed that the control panel was melted and charred. The stove top where the panel is was hot to the touch and I still can't open the oven door. Of course it's out of warranty. I called Whirlpool to see if this was an ongoing problem. As soon as I told the person on the phone what had happened they transferred me to the safety department. They asked a few questions and set up an appointment for next week for a free diagnostic inspection from an appliance repair company. Will update next week.

This appliance came as an "upgraded appliance" when my fiance and I purchased our home. I must say that it is very easy to use. The main concept that is cool about it, is that it maintains the heat temperature by turning the gas on and off as necessary. This is my most favorite aspect of this oven, as you save so much more $$$ per month in gas.
There is also a nice self-clean cycle that you can use. This will heat up the oven just enough to make it more easy to get those stubborn spills that stick to the bottom of the oven.
The size of this oven is standard and comes with two shelves, but just like any other oven, you can move them around depending on what you're cooking. This oven makes indoor grilling a breeze as well!
I highly recommend this oven!

These burners are the most inconsistent feature of an appliance I have used post 1990. It depends on their zodiac reading whether or not that want to actually light up. Half the time I need to just manually light it with a butane lighter, and even then the flame is unruly and asymmetrical. Just unbelievably disappointed that our builders installed this unit instead of asking us to fork over a couple hundred more dollars for anything else.

Replaced a 14 year old Whirlpool gas range. This new one is quite an improvement, but those grates over the burners are heavy and difficult to clean. Requires washing in dishwasher which is difficult for wife to do. Otherwise we love it.

I bought this range in July of 2017 for a rental house that we refurbished. We chose not to buy the extended warranty from the retailer. Of course, just a few months after the 12 month warranty expired, the burners failed to ignite. We called a service technician who replaced the igniter for about $300 for parts and labor using the manufacturer's parts. Here we are about 6 months later, same issue. The service technician recommends replacing the range with another model because this one is junk in his opinion. So i called the Whirlpool warranty line to see if there is a known problem with this range. After giving the model number (WFG515S0ES) the customer service phone rep told me that they had no record of this model number and that I must have the number wrong - to call back with the right model number and serial number.
Needless to say, if Whirlpool customer service does not have a record of the model number of this range, I don't have much confidence in them to help me understand the root cause of the igniter problem and perhaps install something that will last longer than a few months. I will be forced to pitch this 18 month old range and order a new one while trying to recover my reputation as a landlord with my angry tenants.

We love our gas stove and oven, especially the oven's auto ignition and temperature management features. Following recipes becomes so much easier when you can rely on your oven to keep a specific temperature for an exact amount of time.
My only observation would be the big spaces on the burners top grill. Most of small pans end up having poor support and swivel a bit because of it.
