This is a basic range and it performs as expected. However, after only one year of normal usage the knobs keep falling off, looks like the plastic insert is cracked. One(!) replacement knob is $25, so replacing all knobs is a quarter of the entire purchase price of the range.
Also, the space *between* the two glass panels of the front door stains easily, it makes the oven look dirty and it is a pain to clean up.
I'm not happy with the quality of this product.

In less than 3 weeks after my appliance was delivered the black burner caps got gray splotches and the light color at the base of the burner turned uneven color the company said this was a cosmetic issue and not covered under the warranty. they did send me replacement caps but told me they would not do this again and to expect it to continue happening. This is an outrage that a company would sell a product knowing it would have a defect cosmetic or not

Our oven gets so hot that we find it to be a hazard for the small children we have in our home. The front glass door can only be touched for a few seconds before it is too hot to handle. Whirlpool has stated that it falls within the acceptable temperature range. But just be aware of this before buying!

Gas range came with my new house. I've been in for 2 months now and the oven has never worked. 7 service visits, multiple parts replaced, Now waiting on more parts. The repair company feels we got a lemon but Whirlpool continues to drag their feet on a replacement. They did offer a 6 month extended warranty, not very useful on an appliance that doesn't work. Save your time and buy GE

I've had this stove for a couple years now and it has been a series of disappointments:
1) The oven only goes to 500 degrees. There aren't many recipes in my book that need a higher temperature so that is a minor inconvenience.
2) The oven doesn't heat evenly at all. If you use the convection setting the heating is closer to even but it still isn't entirely consistent.
3) The "AquaLift Technology" is a joke. Do not think that this is a self-cleaning oven. You can test the cleaning results by putting a tray of water in your current oven.
4) The two front burners do not adjust to a low enough level to simmer. I have to bring things to a boil on the front eye and then move them to the rear to cook.
5) To top it all off, The cook grill broke in two places last week. The stove was in one piece for dinner but broken at breakfast.
I have always had good luck with Whirlpool. I bought this thinking it would be better than one of the imports but it has been a lesson in why "buy American" is becoming a thing of the past.

This range was in our home when purchased. I find cleaning under the burners a bit tough. Need to remove the heavy grates, set down, clean around burners, etc. and replace heavy grates. Could be hinged?

I bought this oven 2 months ago when my old one unexpectedly died. I knew I wanted a regular/convection oven, but soon became confused on true convection vs. convection. In talking with the sales person, he convinced me that I didn't need to spend more on the true convection for standard in-home baking. I wanted an oven and range that would provide the functionality I wanted, feel solid and well-made, and look nice. I was a little concerned that the stainless steel wasn't advertised to be fingerprint resistant, but it has not been a problem. I just wipe it with a hot wash rag and then dry with a lint-free towel and it always shines up nicely. The oven performs great, the burners are fantastic, everything wipes up easily. I love this oven.

We absolutely love this stove! Having a choice of high output burners vs low output for simmering is something we use a ton. Our old stove didn't have this and we didn't know how much we'd use it.
The quality is excellent too. Everything has a solid feel to it and works just like you'd expect.
Also, the oven is a great size. Plenty of room for anything we need to cook for our family of five.
We also have a Whirlpool dishwasher and fridge, so this is a perfect match and we've been extremely happy with all of them.

We bought this oven in January 2015. As a rule, big appliances like the stove, fridge, and dishwasher should last at least 10 years without any significant problems - wear and tear...yeah but...the knobs started popping off this stove within the first few months. They weren't broken, just a little loose. It was annoying, but we figured it was fine. Then, after a year, they started just falling off periodically. We've now discovered that the plastic bit on the inside of all of the knobs has cracked, crumbled, or broken off. Sure, the stove generally works alright - except we can't use it due to having no functional knobs. Its a big problem and obviously due to a manufacturing defect.

I've had this range in my mountain cabin for over 2 years. It was converted by the installers to run on propane. I too had a problem with the front burners not going down low enough, though they were able to come back out and adjust them. They do not, however, enable much variability in the flame. The over is atrocious! Even in convection mode, it takes 30-40 minutes to heat up to 400 degrees. I will replace it soon with another brand.

We purchased a remodeled home in September that came with all Whirlpool appliances. The home we had remodeled and sold (and where we lived for six years) also had all Whirlpool appliances, so this is probably the brand I would have purchased anyway, but I think the quality has definitely fallen off. We've not been able to adjust the burners properly at all--my husband adjusted the front left burner down a bit so that it wouldn't burn everything on low (there was way too much flame on all settings) but even though low is now down to a usable flame, changing it to the next setting puts it up way too high. There's no gradual increase. It's the same on all five burners.
Today I tried to clean the oven with the aqualift technology, and what a joke! I wipe my oven out often and do my best to keep it clean, but there were some brown spatters on the sides and bottom. The window was also spotted with cooked on grease, though none of it was heavy. I wiped it down and removed the racks, poured in the correct amount of distilled water, and set it to clean.
As soon as the buzzer sounded, I soaked up the water with a sponge and used a sponge with a plastic scrubber to go over the cooked on residue. It came up just fine on the bottom and from the inside of the window, but the sides and back of the oven are still a mess, and the grease would not scrape off at all. I used a plastic putty knife to no effect. Since it doesn't appear to have the traditional oven cleaning system that burns off the grease, I have no idea how to clean it.
And I have one other complaint--my old Whirlpool range (purchased in 2013) had three top iron grates, which made it easy to stick them in the dishwasher to remove burned on grease or food residue. The two racks on this cooktop are too large to fit into the dishwasher, which leaves me without an effective way to clean them. I cook a lot, and I enjoy cooking, but I want to be able to maintain my stove in good condition. This one is not user friendly, and I'd love to have my old Whirlpool range back with the old-fashion cleaning system and the nicely sized top grates. I would appreciate a response if there's something I'm missing about the cleaning process. I'm really disappointed in how ineffective it appears to be, and I'm hoping it's just that I'm doing something wrong.

I bought range and wish I had been able to see it in the store first. I would have returned it had I been allowed. I do not like the two piece burner grid. It is huge, heavy and difficult to move to clean under. The two eyes in the front do not allow for simmer. Much prefer the smaller ones in the rear and center. The oven cooks on the bottom long before the top is nicely browned

I'm disappointed in this range's shoddy construction. This range looked good when brand new, but its appearance has quickly deteriorated due to the cheap materials used. For example, the vent at the top of the oven door is a strip of white plastic. As the vent comes in contact with the oven's heat, the white plastic is turning yellow, making the range look dirty no matter how clean it is. Yesterday I contacted customer support via chat to ask if there was a way to whiten the vent. She suggested I see if a certified technician could paint the unit. Painting a strip of plastic seemed like a poor solution. So, after some online searching I discovered that a new trim vent can be purchased on AppliancePartsPros for $55. The only problem is that the new white trim vent will yellow once it's exposed to the heat. I've thought of purchasing the gray-colored trim vent that goes with the stainless model. I'm not sure how this will look on my white range. In any case, a heat vent shouldn't be made of plastic and Whirlpool customer service isn't very knowledgable about their products. The next issue I'm anticipating is with the bezels on the knobs. At first glance they look like metal, but no - they are covered with metallic tape! The tape is beginning to buckle & no doubt will fall off at some point.
I bought this model less than 2 years ago to replace a 20-year old Whirlpool range. Thankfully I purchased a service contract at the time, as I don't expect this range to hold up like the older solidly-built Whirlpool ranges. Unfortunately I doubt my repair contract will cover aesthetic issues as described above. Needless to say I wouldn't buy a Whirlpool appliance again.

we have had this range for 5 years and it has always had problems. burners work fine, but oven has not. repairman tried to solve problem with new ignitor but no luck. now it needs a new control board and sensor. instead of repairing we will be getting new range. and not a whirlpool! also, knobs are poorly made--sharp edges and finish has bubbled or peeled off.

My brother and I bought this as a Christmas gift for my parents to replace the stove they had. Delivery was scheduled for the first of the year, but watching them prepare for Christmas dinner had me wishing it had been scheduled sooner. The five, easy ignite burners with of various sizes would have made food prep so much easier. They love it but are having to adjust to the flame intensity. They've only made stews and soups so far, so no baked goods yet. I can't wait!

My new refrigerator now has a matching stove. They are both very happy being in the same room together. I like the fact that the stove top has 5 burners, however, if I had my choice, I would have the larger burners in the back and the smaller burners in the front, however, I do like the center burner which is a midsize burner.

I brought this about a month ago. After living with a gas range that had absolutely no extra features… I mean bare-bones, I was excited to get a range with all of the bells and whistle's. Everything on the stove works as it should except for one very important feature. The temperature of the oven is too low by about 20°. Everything I cook I have to add 20° to it and hope that it turns out OK. I haven't looked into it yet, but I hope there's just some kind of a simple adjustment that can be made. The handbook was of no help.
