Good and Bad experience with this refrigerator

First the good: after it finally cooled down and I figured out it had to be at level 6 or 7, it keeps a good temp and works. It took almost 2 weeks to figure out that the factory setting of 4 was way too low (in the food spoilage level on my thermometer). You don't adjust the cooling level but 1 mark in a 24 hour period. It also needed to have a lot more food and liquids in it (instructions said not to put food in for 24 hours). After getting that straight, it keeps food at a consistent and good temperature level. The shelves are highly adjustable and strong. The door trays are fairly strong and will hold tall things like juices and milk. The freezer is a decent size and holds quite a bit of food. The lighting is very good. It does a good job of minimizing fingerprints. Now to the bad: it takes forever to cool down initially, way longer than 24 hours! The french doors do not close securely, they need stronger closures or magnets. You close one side, the other flops open! The temperature settings go from 1 through 7 (the coolest). Factory setting of 4 will not cool enough to keep your food safe. I finally had to use 6 for our use but at Thanksgiving I had to set it on 7 for it to stay cool enough. It has no butter keeper. The ice maker drawer is fixed into the freezer and I haven't figured out how to get it out without breaking it. This means I have to scoop out the ice into a bowl to freshen the ice in the tray. It should have been a long removable ice tray covering the side of that wire basket. That way it would not have to be locked in to prevent it from sliding forward so that the ice falls into the freezer instead of the ice tray. It would definitely benefit from having one of the glass shelves slide back as my GE Profile had so that you could put taller items in the fridge instead only on the door.

This was one of only a few in this size. The 36" was too big for the existing space, but with a family of 5 we needed a fridge as large as possible. This is a good size for us. I wish that filtered water was available inside, as it is in the same fridge in the 36" size. I also wish that the divider for the freezer was adjustable as it is for other shelves and separators. We have only had it for short time, but are pleased with it.

This is a great unit. It puts the refrigerator at the top where you don't have to bend over to see things on the shelves. The freezer section is easy to use and it has an ice maker. I would recommend it for anyone with back problems.

Nice Fingerprint Stainless Steel Front....But....

Our eight month old refrigerator...Whirlpool Stainless Steel Fingerprint Resistant front is a nice look...just wish the sides were made of the same material since sides are visible in our open floor plan. Just make sure you never scratch or scrape the stainless steel surface which cannot be repaired or polished out. Give plenty of room clearance for the top air vents since items tend to freeze on the top shelf...no matter how we have tried to adjust the temperature. Temperature is not consistent to keep door items at safe temperature if turned down to prevent item on back of top shelf from freezing (i.e., we got a refrigerator thermometer on inside door). Also, the major downside are the cheap drawers and shelves inside the refrigerator. The drawers do not slide well...take good care when opening and closing otherwise the drawers break easily. The door pocket shelves are cheap plastic as well...barely bumped the trim with a plastic bottle of orange juice and the trim broke. Biggest complaint are the shelves...which have no trim around back edge with a large gap on back side in which items frequently fall down between. Also, it would be nice to have the full trim around the glass shelves to prevent spillage from going down into the back inside of refrigerator...spills make for a major cleanup without the trim.

Great Small Refrigerator

We bought this to replace an older model that developed a Freon leak. I like the curved handles; I have similar handles on all my kitchen appliances. French doors are the best design, I think. Don't take up too much room when open, and we have a narrow kitchen. I looked at many 33" models but stuck with this one partly because it doesn't have too many features-fewer things to break. And we would never use water or ice from the door, anyway. To me, all the room those features take is just wasted space.

Very roomy for a small refrigerator

I love this fridge and how it looks and fits in the space perfectly, it's so quiet! My only complaint are the plastic bins for fruits and veggies kind of flimsy. No butter space in door!

So far we are really enjoying this refrigerator. Very, very quiet although we have yet to hook up the ice maker so I'm sure that will change things a bit.

Noisy and flimsy

Got this last month, and now it's making an odd noise when it fires up. The shelves seems rather fragile. The light cover was broken in shipping, and replaced by the store, but shows you how weak the plastic parts are. Glad I got a warranty!

It is hard to find a smaller refrigerator today and get all the features. Most of the stores just stock larger refrigerators and you have to special order a normal size. I'm very pleased with my new Whirlpool, it's all I need.

Pretty little thing

This was advertised that it had an interior water dispenser, it does not. The size works great in our limited space. We are very pleased with its appearance.

Beautiful and quiet

I bought this refrigerator a week ago and unfortunately we are getting a replacement. The freezer drawer is sticking and the gap between the 2 doors is very uneven. hopefully the next one will be perfect.

Replaced our RV frig with this beauty!

Our RV refrigerator was beginning to fail (not freezing items) and we longed for a larger, residential refrigerator. We absolutely love this Whirlpool. So large and bright and it freezes!! We know these are standard for refrigerators but we are simply delighted with this purchase. Have had for less than a month, but all is well!
